Marketplace Rules & Safety Tips
What You Can’t Sell
- Stolen goods, or items you cannot prove you own.
- Counterfeit, replica or “first copy” goods; pirated software, films or music.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and fireworks.
- Drugs, prescription and unregistered medicines.
- Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes and vapes.
- Adult content, live animals and wildlife products.
- Unsafe or substandard electrical items (e.g. fake breakers, cables or batteries).
- Anything else that is illegal in Nigeria.
Safety Tips for Buyers
- Pay through the website checkout. Never send a deposit or “delivery fee” directly to a seller you have not met.
- Inspect and test the item on delivery or collection. For inverters, batteries and electronics, ask to see it powered on.
- Be careful with prices that look too good to be true, and with sellers who rush you.
- For phones and laptops, check the IMEI/serial number and ask for proof of ownership.
- Never share bank OTPs, PINs or card details with anyone.
Safety Tips for Sellers
- Confirm payments in your own bank app or vendor dashboard before handing over an item — screenshots and SMS alerts can be faked.
- Meet buyers in busy public places and do not share more personal information than you need to.
- Keep your stock up to date so buyers don’t order items you no longer have.
- Describe items honestly and use photos of the actual item.
